New Superintendent Announcement
Richmond-Burton CHS District 157 and Nippersink School District 2 are happy to announce that Thomas Lind has been selected, and has accepted, the position of Superintendent.
He will be assuming the role of shared Superintendent for both districts on July 1, 2017, following the retirement of Dr. Dan Oest.
Mr. Lind came to Richmond from Hononegah Community High School where he spent thirteen years as an educator and coach. Tom moved to Richmond with his wife and two children eight years ago where he served as Assistant Principal and for the past five years as Principal at RBCHS. In addition, over the past eight years, Tom has taught in the graduate schools of education at St. Xavier University, National Louis University, and Concordia University Chicago.
Mr. Lind’s education consists of a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University Chicago, an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Northern Illinois University, and he will be receiving his Doctorate in Education on January 9, 2017.
The Boards were assisted in this search by the Illinois School Board Association in a very rigorous selection process consisting of surveys, focus groups, and interviews, where Mr. Lind was chosen from a highly qualified field of candidates.
We would like to thank our Shared Service Committee who led this search, as well as our board members, administration, faculty, staff, parents, and community members who gave their time to participate in the selection process.
We are excited to welcome Mr. Lind into this new role as our Superintendent, and believe his leadership skills will continue to move our districts forward as we look to build on the high level of education our schools currently provide to our students.
Sincerely,
Steve Holtz Bert Irslinger
President District 157 President District 2
